I can't decide, either a Toyota Comfort, Volga 3110, Hindustan Ambassador, Rover 800 Coupe, or Citroen XM.

I need a Suzuki Cappuccino in my life. Probably next year if New York allows me to register a car with such low displacement.

Holden Ute
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:27 |

That is a great choice :)
My choice would be the Lotus Carlton. Yeah I know, not a Toyota, but still. Another car I like is the Mitsubishi Minica Toppo.
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:28 |

Toyota Comfort?
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:29 |

That thing is just begging for an S2000 engine swap.
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:30 |

Dammn, dat Carlton. It's going to be a darling super sedan in the US.
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:31 |

I'm not American nor do I live in the US but if I were to emigrate across the pond, I would bring one of these with me.

Hmmm.... Eunos Cosmo w/ a 20B?

Alpine A610, because reasons.
Reasons that include "Hey, I could potentially afford to do this for my next car in a few years."
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:35 |

Absolutely, it's like the Japanese Crown Victoria. RWD, live rear axle, available 6-passenger seating, durable diesel, and Akio Toyoda apparently loves the thing.
Of course, now that I think about it, the Y31 Nissan Cedric has most of the same features, plus an available Brougham package.

That thing is gorgeous. Almost looks like it could be a Ridge Racer car.

I will take delivery of a 1991 USDM Honda Prelude tomorrow. My daughter bought it and isn't using it. It will need some work but it runs and drives.

They're slick. Also, they have 50% more apex seals to go tits up

![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:41 |

Not 1990's as much as just 1990
I had the means I'd try swinging a '90 Holden Commodore, one of the ones with Buick v6. Australian rwd sedan with one of the best murican 6ers out there? yes please
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:44 |

The states seriously need more of these

*ears perk* como say Japanese RWD tank?
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:48 |

Fantastic choice!
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:51 |

Yeah, picture a car designed to basically last forever with minimal repairs, and with Toyota build quality from the factory. No wonder they haven't really seen a need to mess with it in almost 20 years.
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:54 |

Yes, but we got the gimped version. I'm assuming he means the Euro M3, with the proper M engine (286/321hp, depending on version) with 6-speed, versus the 240hp, 5-speed version we got.
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:56 |

I realize that it wasn't available in a crew cab nor with a diesel there, but you know that generation of Hilux was sold in the U.S. as the "Truck", right?
![]() 12/31/2014 at 21:58 |
|
To paraphrase Cryptopygia, we got the gimped version.

YES!!! Lotus Carlton! I'm a sucker for fast saloons and this thing is so totally badass!!! If I ever win the mega-super-gigantic lotto one of these will sit in my garage next to a GTHO Phase III.
![]() 12/31/2014 at 22:19 |

Although the already mentioned Carlton would be my top choice, one of these would be quite nice too.
Edit: Didn't see that this too was already named.

Mmm, Toyota panther
I wonder if one of the UR v8's would fit in a Comfort. Specifically the 5.7, mmm what a cruiser
![]() 12/31/2014 at 22:34 |

Not sure about that, but given the platform's commonality with the '90s Crown, a JZ straight six probably would.

You can buy a Toyota here and get an engine or half cut from Australia/Canada/Japan.

Or a GSXR swap :P
![]() 01/01/2015 at 10:49 |

which is more realistic size wise.
![]() 01/01/2015 at 10:52 |
|
Probably the GSXR. The Cappuccino has a measly 660cc I3 from the factory.
![]() 01/01/2015 at 11:01 |

i bet you could fit a 13b in it tho...
![]() 01/01/2015 at 11:03 |

I'm not really a fan of the ricers so this was the only obvious pick for me. V8 too.

Oh god would that suit that car so well. :3
